Hosted by the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy, TEES 2025: Tribal Energy Evolution Summit is the third annual national gathering for Tribal leaders and cross-sector allies committed to advancing clean energy self-determination in Indian Country.
This year’s Summit arrives at a pivotal moment. A new presidential administration has canceled key federal clean energy programs, leaving many Tribal projects stalled and uncertain. Yet—like the Buffalo facing into the storm—Tribes continue to lead with strength, resilience, and a deep commitment to a sovereign and clean energy-powered future.
What to Expect at TEES 2025
Together, we’ll explore three essential questions:
Where are we now?
We’ll assess the current landscape of Tribal clean energy development, exploring:
- The impact of federal funding freezes and evolving policies
- Regulatory and interconnection barriers – and solutions
- The urgent need for aligned capital, trusted coordination, and adaptable implementation support
- Opportunities and challenges around EV charging infrastructure
- Regional transmission considerations for Tribes
Where do we want to be—one year from now and beyond?
- Solar for All – preserving momentum and programs for Tribal residential and community-scale solar solutions
- Tribal microgrids and electrification
- Clean energy education, workforce development and capacity building
- Strategies for EV charging and transmission planning initiatives
- Tribal self-determination and governance in the energy sector

Through collaborative working sessions, we’ll explore:
- Financial strategies and Tribal-specific project structuring tools including the new Weaver Platform
- Innovative philanthropic and private capital approaches
- Technical assistance pathways tailored for Tribal-led clean energy development
- Policy and regulatory frameworks that center Tribal priorities and sovereignty
