Terri Honani is Hopi and Tewa, from the Village of Tewa, and is Pipwungwa / Sah’towa (Tobacco Clan). Miss Honani brings extensive experience coordinating culturally relevant, respectful, and responsive events, programs, projects, and collaborations across multiple tribal nations, including the Hopi and Tewa communities, with over a decade of experience working with the twelve Villages of the Hopi Tribe.

Prior to joining the Alliance, Miss Honani served as the Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Hopi Tribe. During her tenure, she engaged with the twenty-two tribes of Arizona, the All Pueblo Council of Governors, the State of Arizona Governor’s Office, Coconino County Offices, Navajo County Offices, and academic institutions, including Arizona State University, the University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University. She has built a strong record of collaboration in tribal government, consultation, and liaison roles.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Wellness Health Promotion from Arizona State University, Miss Honani integrates sustainable planning and design principles that enhance community health and align with cultural values and environmental stewardship. Her professional and personal work has spanned health, education, law enforcement, natural resources, and tribal governance, where she has become well-versed in the administrative and financial policies that guide tribal operations and enterprises. She has served on numerous tribal council committees and boards that evaluate projects, resources, and funding to ensure lasting benefits for the Hopi people, their natural and cultural resources, and the sovereignty of their Villages. Miss Honani grounds her work in the teachings and values of the Hopi and Tewa, which guide her in providing respectful service to tribal nations.
