David Lent, a proud member of the Bishop Paiute Tribe, has served as a dedicated Board Member of the Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy since 2020. In this role, he has been instrumental in connecting Tribes across the western United States with the Alliance’s services, fostering energy sovereignty and sustainable development within Tribal communities.
With a distinguished career spanning 49 years, David brings deep expertise in leadership, mediation, and community development. As the former Executive Director of Indian Dispute Resolution Services, he specialized in building consensus and resolving conflicts by actively listening and fostering productive dialogue. David has also held senior leadership positions with the Owens Valley Career Development Center, Owens Valley Housing Authority, and Bishop Indian Education Center, where he worked tirelessly to support community advancement.
For 18 years, David served as CEO of the Toiyabe Indian Health Project, delivering essential healthcare services to both Tribal and non-Native residents in Inyo County. He currently co-manages DR Consulting, LLC, providing technical assistance and spearheading successful grant applications that have secured over $10 million in federal and state healthcare funding for clients. His lifelong commitment to Tribal empowerment and community well-being continues to make a profound impact on the Alliance’s mission to bring the clean and regenerative power of renewable energy to Tribal communities.
