Christopher J. McKosato was born and raised in Oklahoma, where he participated in the Sauk and Baxoje traditions. He is also a descendant of the Delaware, Omaha, and Winnebago Tribes. Chris has spent most of his life dedicating his efforts to his community, both tribal and non-tribal, through his careers as a Tribal Wildland Firefighter, Single Resource Medic, and police officer (both tribal and County Deputy) for nearly two decades.

In the last few years, Chris has contributed to developing a curriculum to advance collaborations between tribal domestic violence advocacy units and law enforcement (state, tribal, and local). This curriculum blends tribal and non-tribal partners alongside our surrounding community organizations and agencies for survivors/victims of crime and criminal investigations, bridging the gap and addressing stigmas between law enforcement and advocates to serve better, protect our victims, and pursue justice and prosecution.

Chris received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate and is a certified Law Enforcement Instructor and Oklahoma State Certified Advocate who has led education instruction and practical application at numerous academies, law enforcement agencies, tech schools, Oklahoma State University, and the Native Alliance Against Violence.

Christopher has a 10-year-old son whose passion is all things ships, and in his spare time, Christopher plays in a billiards league, works on cars, and enjoys golfing.
